Sri Koteeswara Iyer
DKP’s musical journey continued with great opportunity of learning from Sri Koteeswara Iyer, popular for his compositions in all the 72 Melakartha ragas. He was a grandson of the composer Kavi Kunjara Bharathi. He learnt under the guidance of Poochi Srinivasa Iyengar and Patnam Subramanya Iyer. He is known for his illustration of vivadhi ragas. He was a great devotee of Lord Muruga. DKP learnt many krithis from Sri Koteeswara Iyer and some of the popular ones being 'Velavaa' in 'Keeravaani' raga set to Kanda chaapu thaala, 'Velayya dhayavillaya' in 'Saveri' and 'Vaarana Muka Vaa' in 'Hamsadhwani' raga.
